Readers who enjoy the news need it easy to read. Even news anchors on television, never use complex words. What is the purpose of starting a sentence with a conjunction. Business writing is not idle conversation nor is it speechification.

They give strength when they are wide apart. An adjective habit, or a wordy, diffuse, flowery habit, once fastened upon a person, is as hard to get rid of as any other vice. Writing like Hemingway is a daunting task. His mastery of words seems difficult but not impossible to match.
Simplicity seems elegant. On the other hand your client is often competing with a lot of like minded businesses where vivid writing might help set it apart. Use adjectives and adverbs sparingly. Use active verbs. Use short sentences. Be positive, not negative. Actions vs. Leave out backstory. Cut anything unessential to the emotion your story is trying to create.
A long, unfamiliar word might make the reader pause to look up the word, pulling her out of the story. Prefer nouns and verbs to adjectives and adverbs : The Kansas City Star, a newspaper Hemingway worked for early in life, was seminal in his development as a writer. Like Hemingway, only use an adjective and adverb when it changes the meaning of the word it modifies.
This may explain his preference for short, simple sentences. But if this goes on too long, they may give up altogether. Cut commas from compound sentences: The comma is a cue to take a breath when reading.
